2026-2027 partnership at The Cornerstone
At the University of Kentucky, The Cornerstone building serves as a gateway to innovations that nurture connections between the university and the broader community, whether you’re a child, student, caregiver, or community member.
To elevate the role of community partners in this innovation ecosystem, The Cornerstone establishes a formal partnership with a different organization each year. The Lexington Children’s Museum is honored to be their 2026-2027 Community Innovation Partner!
spring exhibition
To gather specific programming ideas, we are inviting everyone (yes, everyone!) to submit play and learning program ideas to be featured at an exhibition on May 5, 2027 from 12-2:30 pm at The Cornerstone. Do you have an idea for a fun way to play and learn that you would like to see LCM bring to life? Click below to submit a proposal!
The deadline to submit is January 25, 2027. You can also view sample proposals or contact Abigail at [email protected] with questions.
partnership goals
As the museum grows, it‘s important to us that we continue developing innovative programs that foster a love of learning and ignite curiosity. Current programs include everything from weekly events at the museum—like Tot Spot and Art-ventures!—to mobile programs that we take to schools and public events.
In our experience, the possibilities for play are endless when we invent together! That’s why we’re harnessing our partnership at The Cornerstone to achieve 3 goals:
Build
Continue building on existing engagement with current programs and the community relationships that make it all possible.
Invite
Invite new participants into our community of curious minds. Our children's museum can serve everyone, from birth to age 99!
Enhance
Enhance processes for refining and developing new programs to continue innovating alongside our growing community.
how can you get involved?
Come out to play! In addition to maintaining a regular presence at The Cornerstone building on UK’s campus, LCM will hold 4 events throughout the year and you’re invited.
We’ll share details about how you can participant in each event. Everyone is welcome to simply attend them, but there will also be opportunities for deeper engagement. For example, you could submit questions or topics to discuss at the town hall or propose a program idea for the exhibition. Stay tuned!
